BY NOW surely no one on earth doesn't know that William and Kate, the Royal couple, are expecting their first child.
Or is it twins? And will it be a boy or a girl? Everybody is guessing! Those who don’t like all the baby talk in the news are in for a rough nine months – and beyond.
As with William and Kate’s wedding, this pregnancy will play out on a very public stage. This baby is important for the British monarchy and for the country.
The announcement of a pregnancy is a moment of joy and delight for a family. In this case, it’s a cause of considerable excitement for a country. People all over the world, in fact, are talking about this baby.
There was a moment in history when angels spoke about a baby to a group of poor men. They came with news “that will cause great joy for all the people”.
This was the arrival of Jesus: a royal birth, but very different to the arrival that William and Kate’s baby will have. His birth was obscure but of immense significance. Born among the poor and attended by the wise and rich, Jesus is the “Prince of Peace” – the greatest king of all; one who will rule forever.
