Jesus Has Heard My Feeble Cry

Watch the video

The Journey album logoRecently we took over one of our church houses, set up a band and invited some friends over for a live event. Over the course of the evening we celebrated God’s faithfulness to us by telling stories and singing songs written throughout our history that together express something of the story of our journey. We’re calling this series ‘The Journey‘.

In the early 70s God started to bring together a rainbow of different people from many backgrounds: hippies, bikers, students, even nice normal Christians. We found no one was too lost or too far for Jesus to reach and rescue.

This second song from our Journey event was written from personal experience in 1978.

Lyrics:

Jesus has heard my feeble cry,
Opened wide that old prison door,
Broken down the walls that held me in;
Now I’m free, the light is shining in.

Glory, hallelujah, now I’m free,
Free to be, to be what I am. (repeat)

2. The blood of Jesus Christ has set me free,
Free to be, to be what I am.
The blood of Jesus Christ has set me free,
Free to be, to be what I am.

Glory, hallelujah, now I’m free,
Free to be, to be what I am. (repeat)
