Jesus people, loving people

Living relationship

There are two very significant days in our lives – the first was the day we were born, and the second is the day you knew why you were born. Can you name both dates?

O Lord, you have searched me and known me!
(Psalm 139:1)

The most important thing is a living relationship with God the Father through Jesus. Wherever we look in the Bible there’s a focus on our walk with God and our relationship with Him.

His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence, by which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire. For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love. 8 For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they keep you from being ineffective or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
(2 Peter 1:1-8)

We do all these things to become effective and fruitful in knowing Jesus. The purpose is to get to know Jesus. Think of the bridegroom and the bride – to get to know the bridegroom you need to be with Him. How much time have we focused on getting to know Him? How much time do we spend on our prayer life?
