What happens to your personal data?
Whether you are (i) the applicant or (ii) applying on someone else’s behalf, the data you provide will be used in order to process your application to the Community Adverse Experience Scheme and/or the Individual Redress Payment Scheme and/or the Other Claims Scheme and to:
- verify information provided in your application;
- determine eligibility for and make payment of a support grant under Community Adverse Experience;
- determine eligibility for and make capital refunds under the Community Adverse Experience;
- determine eligibility for a written apology and/or an invitation to meet with a trustee of the Jesus Fellowship Community Trust;
- determine eligibility for and make payment of individual redress payments under Individual Redress Payment;
- determine eligibility for and make redress payments under Other Claims Scheme;
- communicate with you; and
- interact with your nominee, if you have one.
We may also use your data to:
- collate anonymised statistical and financial reports to inform the Redress Office and Trustees of the Jesus Fellowship Community Trust for budgeting and monitoring purposes;
- investigate fraud; and
- consider and undertake reporting to the Police Service and/or other relevant child protection authorities, as legally permitted or required by law, so that the appropriate authorities can assess any risk that a person may currently pose to children and/or to vulnerable adults. Please note, this may include the identity of any person you mention in the course of your application as being responsible for abuse.
Your information will be seen by the Redress Office team members, who are overseen by independent Professional Trustees, and the Scheme Solicitors, Clyde & Co.
We may need to disclose your personal information to others. In some cases, the Redress Scheme’s insurers may be provided with your personal data in order to facilitate an insurance claim. We may share your data with third parties where required by law.
The Redress Office is committed to protecting your privacy. Personal data held by the Redress Office will be managed effectively and stored in a secure location, and on secure IT systems and networks.
